Topic & Abstract:
Leveraging the Enterprise GIS Investment to Support the Geospatial Needs of a Full Service Public Safety Agency – Broward Sheriff’s Office
One of public safety’s most important jobs is to protect its residents from criminal activity, fires, man-made and naturals disasters. Public agencies are increasingly expected to do so in a more effective manner, by reducing costs and leveraging existing investments in technologies that have the power to support public safety agencies in the areas of crime reporting, crime analysis, criminal intelligence, fire-rescue services and emergency operations. Learn how Broward Sheriff’s Office is leveraging its Enterprise GIS investment to support multiple geospatial technology platforms.
Learn about BSO’s CrimeSTAR application, an ESRI-based Desktop mapping solution for crime analysis, crime intelligence and tactical mapping. Other geospatial applications to be demonstrated include the agency’s First Responder Mobile for both Law Enforcement and Fire Rescue front line vehicles, Sex Offender Locator, CrimeWEB – an ArcGIS Server Web Dashboard to promote situational awareness to Command, E911 MapGuide to support 911 mapping needs, and how Pictometry Online is used by SWAT.lass="Black16pt">
