arrow.gifTopic: Real Applications of a Web-based GIS User Tool

arrow.gifAbstract:

Rolta International and Orion Technologies will make a presentation entitled “Real Applications of a Web-based GIS User Tool” to the Palm Beach Countywide GIS Forum membership at the June meeting. The presentation will show ways in which local governments, economic development councils and public utilities are using the web to get GIS information out to departments and users both internally and through public access websites. OnPoint is a web-based application that draws textual/tabular information from any ODBC compliant database/server, relating it to the geographical features and data from your GIS server, and making it available to users in a powerful analysis, update, posting and viewing tool. The application helps bridge the compatibility issue with data-sharing and allows retrieval from servers residing at many locations with different graphical and textual data formats. OnPoint’s functionality increases the value of your GIS data with out-of-the-box simplicity through a wizard-like Admin/setup tool.
